It’s OK to hide away a while,
Not to be found, to have no audience,
But myself. Maybe God is listening,
Maybe not.
Only I am listening,
But if this I I call I,
Is not really anything,
Then what are these words,
Where is this communication going?
Who is there that will hear my song?
If I sing in an an underground cave
With no light, no sound, no ear to hear.
Who will hear me?
I call out into the void,
But I become content with my own song
And my own voice,
And I know it is enough comfort for me.
To be alone is to make friends with those spirits,
Who will never leave my side.
